Efforts for promoting the welfare, livelihood and achieving a better life are among the human social goals for sustainability in all settlement areas. Therefore, in order to escape from the problems and bottlenecks in their home town and also enjoying happiness, what is considered as the natural right of human to survive, people immigrate to other residential places. In line with these population trends, people decide to emigrate from rural areas in order to use the livelihoods and welfare and also to find jobs and adequate income. Hence, the present study aims at examining and analyzing the effective factors on emigration from rural border areas in south Chalderan district. The research method in this study is descriptive-analytic based on documentary sources, field studies and questionnaires. Based on the census conducted in 2011, the statistical population included 542 rural families consisting of 2901people in 8 border villages of south Chalderan district. Using the revised version of Cochran formula, 148 householders were selected as the samples of the study. The results of confirmatory factor analysis obtained from LISREL software, 45 obvious variables (index) in the form of 4 hidden variables (factor), including economic, social, physical and geographical and climatic factors were taken into considerations and results indicated that the main reason for emigration was economic factors. The most reliable variables were unemployment and dissatisfaction with the amount of income from the activities such as livestock, agriculture, etc. and they had the most effect on emigration with the squared multiple-correlation (R^2) of .44 and .43.
