Among various issues, security has a special position in peace and enhancing the quality of human life. Human beings have always tried to meet these basic needs throughout history. Because the ways to meet these needs have a direct impact on the satisfaction of other needs and it highlights the need for this discussion and research on security. The present study aims to explaining the role of public participation in achieving sustainable security in the border areas of Kurdistan Province. This study is of a descriptive-analytic research type. The library and field studies (a researcher-made questionnaire) were employed for data collection. The statistical population consisted of 4 border towns in Kurdistan province (Marivan, Saqez, Baneh, Sarvabad). The sample size contained 100 copies of questionnaire. The participants were selected using random sampling method. The examined factors included public participation, accountability, trust, and rule of law that have been analyzed in 22 items. The Data analysis tool to evaluate the effectiveness of each component in securing was the structural equation modeling (LISREL). The results show that "trust" is considered as the most influential factor in achieving regional security practice; and whatever the turnout the greater the security will be more secure and that as the people's participation level with security agencies increases security will be more in the region.
