Cities as a center of human and material capital become a major end to for the enemy during the war and therefore any attack to the cities would result in a lot of damage. The enemy's strategy in attacking civilian areas is imposing economic, social, political and psychological pressure on people and the government; as during the wars in recent decades, civilians were the main victims of the war. Now, the war against the country is very likely due to the regional situation and conflicts in neighboring countries and the occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan by America. Given that the border city of Baneh is located in the west of Iran border point with Iraq, which is one of America's military bases, the city has a special strategic position. Thus, the aim of this study is to provide solutions to increase the sustainability of defensive in border city of Baneh according to the needs of defense and security of the city and its geographical characteristics. The research data compatible with the aims were extracted from field studies and aerial photographs; then, the city's situational analysis was run using GIS software and identifying strategic centers. The results show that currently the border city of Baneh lacks a comprehensive defensive plan for security of citizens in the case of attack by the enemy and also the structure of the city is not consistent with the principles of passive defense.
