Due to the limitations and obstacles in the rural areas of the border, desirable and optimal location of developmental establishments, including border markets, is necessary to ensure the success, continuity and distribution of their outcomes. On the other hand, solving the complexities involved in locating as the result of the involvement of multiple quantitative and qualitative criteria, sometimes contradictory, stakeholders and options, requires the use of new methods, including multi-criterion decision-making methods.
Aimed at the prosperity and success of the border market of the Khavmirabad district of Marivan city, the present study seeks to answer the following question: which of the villages in this district have better conditions for the establishment of the market. In this applied research, the desired options for ranking and the most optimal location for establishing a market in the sector were determined with the help of library studies and using quantitative models, the ranking of indices and criteria using local experts and local informants and then using the methods of ELECTERE, TOPSIS and SAW. The statistical calculations were carried out in two EXPERT CHOICE and EXCEL software. Finally, the results of the research indicate that the Savoji border village is the most desirable place to establish a market, due to the favorable conditions of the village, including the availability of services and facilities, more proximity to the center of the city and the easy transit through the lack of topographical barriers.
